Restaurant Zur Post in Wiehl

When booking by phone on July 5th, 2020, we felt like eating there. It seems like a well-run house, the contact to the reception and then to the restaurant was unusually stylish: people report friendly with their full names and remember my ... Then with good food and a really interesting wine list EXCELLENTly served by Mr. Dominik Fischer (we obtained permission to name it), thank you very much! Your service was a pleasure for us. That alone was worth the visit. We will definitely be back soon and will bring reinforcements.

Nice ambience

This restaurant is incredible! I'm visiting Walbrol, Germany again this week from Greenville, SC. I've stayed at the Zur Post hotel about twice a year since 2017. The hotel itself is wonderful .. to have such a capable restaurant serving delicious entrees in store is a huge bonus! Tonight I ordered the Fried Monk Fish, with grilled asparagus, a seafood risotto (with shrimp) in a burre Blanc sauce. INCREDIBLE! Absolutely full of flavor in every bite. The sauce was nice and thin, without being too rich for my system, which would normally be my dear ordering sick an entree. The fish was prepared Perfectly! Tender with really the lightest hint of fried .. just a dusting to give it a cost of flavor, which was outstanding! The risotto .. Wow!! Tremendous! I almost could order another serving, it was THAT GOOD! I've had Burgers here, and a pork medallions wrapped in bacon meal that were also very very good .. tonight's was just stellar! I recommend this hotel & this restaurant with absolute confidence! Get Some!!

We were there as part of the Irish folk train. Very nice service. Food was OK. Priced maybe a little over it.

Nice ambience, is very centrally located in Wiehl. The hotel is good, freshly renovated, the restaurant was nice, in the basement nice and cozy. The hotel is located directly on the park.

Christmas party, food and bowling. Tlw. 25-30min until new drinks came, food came, despite empty restaurants, only after 45min .. To the cook seems in love, food is strongly salted. Atmosphere very nice, you could make something out of it, if you want.

Rumpsteak was not medium, but well-fried, instead of black tiger prawns 3 scampis were served. Both meals accompanied by a simple lamb's lettuce that floated in oil and vinegar. Even our criticism was only a weary shrug. Too bad, because the local atmosphere is good and could be top notch with a better kitchen

The dinner wasn't worth the money. Pikeperch with vegetables. The fish was dry and the vegetables were too salty. I have communicated this. There was no response from the kitchen.
